PS Food Mart Charities continues to provide food packs and groceries to those that need them locally.  With over $1,118,000 raised, PS Food Mart Charities is able to fight hunger in the communities they serve by supporting the Food Bank of South Central Michigan, Seagate Food Bank of Toledo, as well as food pantries and school weekend backpack programs.

From March 4th through the 17th, PS Food Mart customers that generously participated came into the stores and made donations of $1 and $5 that went to the effort of feeding people locally. Enthusiastic employees also added to the fun and fundraising with their ideas for each store location. With this money, over a 495,000 meals can be provided.

It's official.  We have set another new record in our 2018 campaign.  Through the generosity of our customers and the diligence of our associates, we were able to collect over 129,000 Pop Tarts during the month of October to be distributed to food pantries and back-pack programs across every community that we call home.

Customers of Folk Oil, the local CITGO marketer and PS Food Mart Charities, raised just over $80,000 at the beginning of March in the “Fight Hunger Give Hope” campaign. 

In the last 8 years, getting food packs and groceries to those that need them locally, is one of the things PS Food Mart Charities has been doing in the communities they serve, including this effort through the Food Bank of South Central Michigan, Seagate Food Bank of Toledo, as well as food pantries and school weekend backpack programs.

From March 5^th through the 18^th, PS Food Mart customers that generously participated came into the stores and made donations of $1 and $5 that went to the effort of feeding people locally. Enthusiastic employees also added to the fun and fundraising with their ideas for each store location. With this money, over a half-million meals can be provided.

           Folk Oil and PS Food Mart Stores are very proud of their customers and employees that helped to raise $80,056 in this effort.

Our 9th annual campaign will take place March 5 - 18.  We will be supporting not only the Food Bank of South Central Michigan and SeaGate Food Bank in Toledo, but weekend backpack programs in the school districts of Homer, Concord, Western, Coldwater, Jackson, Hillsdale, Reading, Union City, Marshall, Albion, Lakeview, Harper Creek, Whitmore Lake, Williamston, Swanton, Garfield and Beverly in Toledo and food pantry locations as well in Michigan and Ohio. Local Citgo & Sunoco Marketer Hosts Eighth Annual Pop-Tarts® Fundraiser to Benefit Local School Back Pack Programs and Food Pantries
Folk Oil Company and 35 PS Food Mart locations in the Toledo, Ohio area and southern Michigan have initiated the eighth annual PS Food Mart Kellogg’s Pop –Tarts® fundraiser to support local food pantries and after school backpack programs. Between October 2nd and October 31st, customers can visit their local participating PS Food Mart station to purchase and donate Pop-Tarts to a local cause chosen by each PS Food Mart.
“We had a record-breaking fundraiser last year. We hope to have even greater success this year as we help fight hunger in our community,” said Dick Folk, CEO and President of PS Food Mart. “As we approach the colder months, it is important to make sure our local schools and food pantries have enough nutritious food for the less fortunate who depend on these resources. Our customers are truly outstanding in their willingness to give. We are grateful that they continue to support this campaign each year.”
During the month-long event, PS Food Mart customers are encouraged to purchase two Pop-Tarts for $1 or one box of Pop-Tarts for $3 and any amount purchased can be donated. Last year, our customers donated more than 118,000 Pop-Tarts through the annual fundraising campaign.

The 2017 Fight Hunger, Give Hope campaign is complete.  We are awestruck by the generosity of our customers and the unfailing dedication of our associates.  Through your efforts we are glad to announce that we raised over $87,000.  All money raised goes straight to the charitable organizations to help fight local hunger in all the communities we operate in.   

Our 2016 campaign will take place March 1 - March 14. This year we will supporting several local Food Pantries and Schools Backpack programs as well as South Central MI Food Bank in Battle Creek and SeaGate Food Bank in Toledo. We will support school weekend backpack programs in the following schools in Michigan: Homer Community Schools, Concord Community Schools, Western Schools in Spring Arbor, Frost Elementary in Jackson, Coldwater Elementary Schools, Hillsdale Community Schools, Reading Community Schools, Union City Community Schools, Marshall Public Schools, Mar Lee School in Marshall, Albion Elementary School, Lakeview Elementary Schools in Battle Creek, Harper Creek Elementary Schools in Battle Creek, Whitmore Lake, and Williamston Community Schools. We will also be supporting weekend backpack programs at the following schools in OH: Swanton Local Schools, Birmingham Elementary in Toledo, Garfield Elementary in Toledo and Beverly Elementary in Toledo. In addition to the school backpack programs, we will also be supporting food pantries in Battle Creek, Marshall, Union City, Coldwater, Homer, Albion, Spring Arbor, Jackson, Hillsdale, Hudson, Dundee and Monroe as well as in Toledo, Maumee, and Holland OH.

Our 8th annual campaign will take place March 13 - March 26.  We will be supporting several local Food Pantries and Schools Backpack programs as well as South Central MI Food Bank in Battle Creek and SeaGate Food Bank in Toledo. The economic recovery is a slow process, especially for those in need in our community. It's a generous sense of community that is vital for families with children and the elderly to get much needed food. The Food Bank of South Central Michigan and the Seagate Food Bank of Toledo are efficient, practical and always there when needed, and PS Food Mart Stores are very proud to offer assistance to help locally, by getting food to those who need it in the communities where they operate.

Local food banks are still searching to try to replace resources so parents can continue to feed their children and the elderly will not go without. PS Food Mart Stores and their generous customers and creative employees are kicking off the 6th annual "Fight Hunger, Give Hope" campaign. This year’s efforts run from March 2nd to the 15th.

PS Food Mart Charities will provide generous financial support raised in this effort to the South Central MI Food Bank and the Seagate Food Bank of Toledo, along with several food pantries in communities where PS Food Mart operates. Some of these pantries include Homer Caring and Sharing, Williamston Food Pantry, Jackson Community Food Pantry, Mustard Seed, Owens Harvest, Concord Food for Thought, Branch Area Food Pantry, Kings Kupboard, and St. Louis Helping Hands.

Money donated provides over a half million meals through local food banks and pantries. The enthusiasm of the PS Food Mart employees including their energy and effort in this campaign, along with outstanding customer generosity will make a large impact on fighting local hunger.

Customers will once again be asked to ”tear a square” and make a $1 or $5 donation to the "Fight Hunger Give Hope" campaign. The generous customer support of this fundraiser is what has made it successful the past 5 years. We are looking forward to reaching our goal of raising $50,000 and being able to fight local hunger in several communities. Throughout the month of October, PS Food Mart locations sold Kellogg’s Pop Tarts at a substantially discounted price, and asked customers to donate them to local charities. As a result of the tremendous generosity of its customers, PS Food Mart will be donating over 107,000 Pop Tarts to local pantries and school back-pack programs in every town where a PS Food Mart is located. We view every community where we are present as our hometown.

PS Food Mart donated in excess of 62,000 Pop Tarts, thanks in part to our generous customers and dedicated employees. To date, we have donated over 215,000 Pop Tarts from our five campaigns. Local CITGO Marketer Raises Nearly $62,000 for Local Families During “Fight Hunger Give Hope” Campaign 

Homer, Mich. – March 24, 2014 – Local CITGO Marketer, Folk Oil and PS Food Mart Charities raised nearly $62,000 to support local food pantries through the fifth annual “Fight Hunger Give Hope” campaign. Thirty-one PS Food Mart locations across Southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio surpassed their fundraising goal of $50,000 by encouraging customers to purchase $1 or $5 certificates, which were posted around the store as a sign of their support.

“We are extremely grateful for the generosity each year from the communities we serve,” said Ed Heath, vice president of operations at Folk Oil. “The ‘Fight Hunger Give Hope’ campaign has been a part of PS Food Mart charities for five years. We look forward to raising even more money in the years to come and will continue our efforts to fight hunger in our local communities.”

The funds raised during the campaign will stay in the area to benefit local food banks, including the Homer Caring and Sharing Pantry, Branch Area Food Pantry, Williamston Food Bank, Jackson Community Food Pantry, the South Central Michigan Food Bank, Toledo Seagate Food Bank and several other local food pantries. The dollars raised will ensure that these local food pantries can supply healthy, nutritious meals to the hundreds of thousands of people who need it most.
